Rita, formed this professional dance troupe in 2013. She is an acclaimed performer who has taught dance for over twelve years, five of which was spent with the Canberra Dance Theatre. From the age of 7 years old, Rita has studied and performed dance in 5 cities in Australia, as well as Toronto (Canada) and California (USA). Rita conveys that when she dances she feels a deep sense of peace and freedom, which overtime has developed into a powerful stage presence. She studied American Tribal Style ® Bellydance with Alexis Yael in Toronto and Hilary Cinis in Sydney. She is heavily influenced by her studies (through workshops) with Devi Mamak. Rita also performs Modern Gypsy (Rom-Inspired dance) and contact improvisation/contemporary dance. Rita is musically inclined, dabbling with Middle Eastern and Gypsy tunes on the clarinet. Like most ATS® dancers, she is passionate about playing finger cymbals while dancing.
A popular teacher and performer with the Tribal and Trance Festival and National Folk Festival, she has taught and performed at events across Australia. Today she teaches ATS ® through Brisbane's Soul Dance School of Romany, Middle Eastern and Tribal Dance. |

Molly is a member of Silk Road Rebellion and teaches a weekly Beginner class.
Molly has only been learning ATS® since 2014 but her natural grace and attention to detail has seen her soar quickly. She also learned Oriental and Romani-inspired dance for two years before (with Margaret Cunningham), which is reflected in her solos that brim with passion and feeling. What Molly loves about ATS® is that it draws on other dance styles and that it can be performed to any music. Her love of performing has been nurtured by the other members of Silk Road Rebellion, especially by Rita. Not only has she brought her passion for learning and performing, but she has brought her love for creating music, being able to play violin, flute and trumpet. |

Karen began oriental and cabaret belly dance quite by accident in 2003 and since then has gone on to study, teach and perform across Australia and in the US. Eternally curious, she dabbled in folkloric and contemporary middle eastern dancing until finding American Tribal Style dance in 2015. The intoxicating music and rhythms, the blending of ancient cultures and the weaving of the past with the present enrapture her. But most of all, it is the ephemeral nature of ATS® - created in the moment, a piece of art shaped with her sisters and never to be seen again - that excites her. ATS® is like life - joyous, rebellious and riotous colour coupled with passion, grace and dignity. Karen seeks to beguile you - show you a different place, a different time, a different world all through the magic of dance.
