RAVI & SILK ROAD REBELLION
In early 2015, Silk Road Rebellion commenced a collaboration with Ravikesh Singh, an Indian Tabla musician also based in Brisbane.
Together we present an evocative glimpse of the ancient silk road, blending improvised music and dance with performance art. Balancing epic swords, Indian tea trays, and folding into sweeping backbends, these dancers are truly captivating. Ravikesh tunes his Tabla into their movement, rushing with their spins, building suspense at other times as he takes listeners on a journey through Classical Indian rhythms.
For longer sets, Ravikesh invites a Sitar player from amongst his accomplished colleagues to expand the musical journey.
This collaboration is available to perform at Festivals and corporate or private functions.
